Believe In A New Year

Belief is extremely important. The greater your belief, the stronger your feeling, the more chance there is that your desire will become reality! Removing doubt from your mind is key!

As Christopher Columbus said:

“You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”

I used to NEVER believe in New Year’s resolutions. I always preferred to refer to new year goals as “casual promises to myself I’m under no obligation to fulfill.” This is how I believe many people start invalidating their abilities. For example, since I was a child I always wanted to be formally trained in dance and gymnastics. I came from a very poor background, my parents could never afford to enroll me in any extracurricular activities. I still tried to get professional training when I could wherever I could. Today I am a professional athlete participating with the International Fitness and BodyBuilding Federation. Of course, plenty of my competition come with YEARS of formal training. When I am practicing a new skill in gymnastics or dance I used to say all the time “ I am not a gymnast …I am not a dancer.” This is where I set myself to fail. My fans and audience are always shocked to learn I was never formally trained  because in their eyes I looked like I always was.

The point of the matter is we often invalidate our abilities before and more often than other people do. Whatever your new goal might be, don’t tell yourself your not, but tell yourself you ARE!

I am counting on my next read Atomic Habits by James Clear.  This book is supposed to be a great guide to breaking those bad routines and make better ones; thus also helping you reach those new goals! Link provided Below. ***As an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases***
